The Alliance is governed by its members, and through the Ladies Elevation Alliance Board, which is made up of representatives from each of its full members. All members are organisations majority-led by and composed of women and girls from vulnerable communities and their families.

Together we promote the inclusion of women and girls from vulnerable communities across global efforts to advance human rights and sustainable development. We support organisations of Women and girls from vulnerable communities to hold their governments to account and advocate for change locally, nationally and internationally.

With member organizations around the world, L.E.A represents the estimated one billion women and girls worldwide living in vulnerable communities. Among them are some of the world’s largest – and most frequently overlooked – marginalized group. With its unique composition, L.E.A is considered by the United Nations System as the most authoritative representation of women and girls from vulnerable communities.

The cornerstone of our work is the United Nations Convention on the Rights women and girls. L.E.A promotes its effective implementation through coordinated action by representative organisations to ensure compliance of the CRPD at national, regional and international levels.

The Alliance, along with its member organizations, lobbies the UN Council on Human Rights in order to advocate for the fair treatment of women and girls from vulnerable communities. This proposal is meant to eliminate discrimination against Women and Harmful Practices.

This proposal is meant to eliminate discrimination against Women and Harmful Practices. The L.E.A Committee focuses on the fair treatment of women. The proposal outlines several practices that they would like to see abolished such as the rape of women and girls and the forced abortion of children.
